IBEW CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE
Members of the IBEW who work in Construction
and Maintenance are the best trained craftspeople you will
find anywhere. The IBEW jointly administrates
a five year apprenticeship program, with the Electrical Contractors
Association.
Before a member can call themselves a "Journeyman Inside Wireman
or Outside Lineman," as well as many other classifications, such
as "Telecommunications Technicians" and "Residential Wireman," etc;
they must complete an apprenticeship program with extensive classroom
studies and on the job training. Go to our apprenticeship
page to learn more on our training program.
While we believe in providing a superior product (our knowledge
and labour), we also believe that our members should be fairly
compensated for their work and afforded the respect that they
are due.
