In January 2018 members of IBEW Local 1347 that work for Duke Energy as Electrical Linemen located in Cincinnati, Ohio traveled 1,798 miles to work and help restore power to the island of Puerto Rico. Workers have struggled tremendously during this daunting task caused by the destruction of three consecutive hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico and several other islands in central America in September 2017. There have been many struggles in Puerto Rico with disaster relief since the hurricanes destroyed almost all of the infrastructure on the island. We are pleased to share a couple photos of 1347's Linemen that worked long days helping to restore power to the islands local people and the businesses they work for all in an effort to restore the lively hood to the US Territory. Our Business Manager, Andrew Kirk took a trip to the island on February 20th
to check up on the men who were sent to help restore power to show appreciation to all of them for the great work they are providing to a part of the US that desperately needs their help.
