Southwestern Line Constructors JATC

The Southwestern Line Constructors JATC held its annual Apprentice Lineman contest in Beaumont this year.  For the 38th year the program has held a contest between the 7 area subcommittees to determine the best line apprentice.  This year’s winner of the Jack Grimm award is Pat Truog from Local Union 769, Phoenix, Arizona.

Southwestern Line Constructors, JATC currently has approximately 400 Apprentices in the 7th District area.  The subcommittee areas that are currently in operation are Arizona (Phoenix), Kansas (Topeka), Oklahoma (Tulsa), Dallas, Port Arthur and Houston, Texas.  Hurricanes and ice storms have created many opportunities for signatory employers to keep line workers busy and to keep providing the training needed for the next generation of Linemen.
