Welcome to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Ninth District!

The Ninth District of the IBEW encompasses the states of California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawai'i and the northern portion of Idaho, as well as Guam and Saipan, representing a broad range of workers.

Early man learned that by working with others, he could tackle just about any task with greater success. Thus, villages and towns were formed and together, our ancestors provided a safe and stable life for themselves and their families.

The principle of trade unionism is much the same. A Union is a group of dedicated men and women striving toward the same goals, providing security and dignity for all members.

The voices of many are louder than the voice of any one individual.

The IBEW collectively speaks for its members while working to achieve security and dignity on the job, along with health and welfare benefits, a living wage, a safe working environment, and a comfortable pension.

The Ninth District of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers encompasses Alaska, California, Hawai'i, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and the northern portion of Idaho.

We represent over 155,045 members - men and women working in every branch of the IBEW, making our District the largest within our union.

If you are a member of the IBEW, we hope you find this site useful. If you are not a member but work in any of the industries where the IBEW represents hard working Americans, Canadians, and the people of Micronesia, we invite you to contact us.

Together, our future can be brighter!
