To Web Coverage of the
37th IBEW International Convention

The 37th International Convention of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers will be held September 11-15, 2006 in Cleveland, Ohio, at the Cleveland Convention Center.  The Electrical Industry Exposition and other preliminary meetings and events will take place from September 8-10.

This year marks the 115th anniversary of the founding of the IBEW.  The theme of the convention is “Rhythm of the Past, Drumbeat of the Future,” symbolizing the union’s respect for its long history and commitment to growth and remaining on the leading edge of technology in all aspects of the electrical industry of the future.

Coverage of all convention activities, including a daily Web video broadcast summarizing each day’s events will begin on September 8 on this site.  Visit this site during the convention for news stories on all events, photographs, video excerpts of convention speeches and more.

Ohio is part of the IBEW’s Fourth Vice Presidential District.  The IBEW has four local unions in Cleveland, Locals 38, 39, 912 and 1377.
