Avaya Bargaining
Update #16

May 24, 2006

The Chairs of the Company and Union bargaining teams met most of the morning to discuss the status of bargaining. The Union teams continue to meet and formulate our proposals and counters to the Company.

Both the IBEW and CWA bargaining teams are on call waiting on the Company to make new proposals on job security and other issues. As we have said from the beginning, this round of bargaining is about JOBS and we will not achieve an agreement without a secure future for our members and retirees!

The Local Sub-committee met with the Company and passed proposals on various articles in the Operation Section.

Any work performed should be done in full compliance with Avaya's procedures and guidelines.

No one should be working voluntary overtime.

The clock continues to the Saturday midnight hour and apparently Avaya still wants it to strike!

In Unity,

Your Bargaining Team
