Avaya Bargaining Update 17 - May 24, 2009
The clock remains “stopped” in bargaining with Avaya. The Joint IBEW/CWA committee met today to study the company’s proposals on retiree and active healthcare. The Unions healthcare subcommittee met with Avaya to explore cost containment within the existing plans to fund healthcare accounts without any diminishment of benefits. On Tuesday the actuaries and healthcare experts will help formulate the next counter proposal.
A stopped clock means that we continue under the existing contract. Everyone is require to report to work as scheduled.
