Local 965 Member Wins National Safety Award

January/February 2002 IBEW Journal

Brother Larry Lenhardt was honored at the National Safety Council Congress.

Larry Lenhardt, a former vice president of Local 965, Madison, Wisconsin, has received the highest award given by the National Safety Council—the Distinguished Service to Safety Award, "in recognition of outstanding service to the field of safety."

Brother Lenhardt, who retired as a chief line technician for Alliant Energy at Wisconsin Power and Light, now presents seminars and in-plant presentations to train workers on government and association codes and regulations. Now he travels the country as a safety
specialist at National Technology Transfer, Inc., headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, "and we miss him because he’s a super guy," says Local 965 Office Secretary Georgia Hillebrandt.

The award was presented to him at the opening convocation of the National Safety Council’s annual congress in Atlanta.
