Your Vote Is Important I have been working on the voter registration campaign and politics for a couple months now. We dont know who will come out of the primary, but your vote is still important to defeat Gov. Jeb Bush. Also, if you dont vote because of the gubernatorial candidate, other House and Senate races could be lost. On July 30, the 6th Annual Construction Organizing Summit was held in Daytona Beach. Int. Sec./Treas. Jerry OConnor, Sixth Dist. Int. Vice Pres. Pat Curley, Fifth Dist. Field Rep./Local 756 Organizer for Puerto Rico Gerardo Mulero and Local 481 Organizer Sean Seyferth were guests in attendance. The summit was very informative. John W. Barrington, P.S. Great Strides Forward
L.U. 804 (i&o), KITCHENER, ON, CANADAOn June 21, 2002, the ballots for our local union elections were tabulated and the following officers were elected to serve for the next three years: Pres. Greg Woods, Vice Pres. Jim Cudahy, Rec. Sec. Alexander Fair, Treas. Pat Sullivan and Bus. Mgr./Fin. Sec. Brett McKenzie. The Executive Board members are Robert Emslie, Edward Schnarr and Jeff Scott. Thanks to my father, Int. Rep. Charles McKenzie for conducting the pledge and oath of office to all elected officers. Undoubtedly over the course of the next three years we will face many battles within the construction industry, and acting as a proactive rather than reactive organization we will be able to overcome any obstacles we face along the way. Membership support and interaction is a crucial element that will be needed to implement the changes necessary to meet the demands placed on us and our industry as a whole. This local union has made great strides within the last year, and will continue new initiatives in the upcoming months. Special thanks to Bro. Harry Holloway for his years of service as an officer in our Local Union. His dedication and commitment to our local is greatly appreciated. Brett McKenzie, B.M./F.S. Busy Contract Time
