L.U. 77 (lctt,mt,o,t&u), SEATTLE, WALocal 77 extends its deepest gratitude to Ninth District Int. Vice Pres. Michael Mowrey for attending our Fall Unit Conference in Spokane, WA, in November 2002. Int. Vice Pres. Mowrey thanked the local for being so astute to the need to organize. He also pointed out how the union movement in the United States has suffered drastically in the past 20 or 30 years. Several contracts are coming up for negotiations. All of our negotiating teams are in place, and health care is expected to be the big issue this time around. At this writing, work is still a bit slow in this area, although several utilities are looking for journeyman linemen. The latest word is that tansmission work in this area is projected to go wide open in the spring, probably around March or April. For more information call us at (206) 323-4505 or visit us on the web at www.ibew77.com. Sherman Williams, Jr., R.S./P.S.

This award honors outstanding leaders who champion the advancement of workers rights and is presented annually by the Greater Tidewater Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO and the United Labor Agency. We extend our congratulations and thanks to Bro. Woolridge for his service to the community, the Building Trades and our local union. Congratulations to Bro.
