October 2003 IBEW Journal L.U. 238 (i,mo,o&u), ASHEVILLE, NCThe work situation with our court appointed president in office is bleak. There is one small bright spot. A small hospital in Highlands is expanding, and a union contractor has landed that project. They will need a crew of six for about a year. Our community service projects have been a lot of fun and we have raised over $5,240 to aid the Asheville Tourists Childrens Fund "If the Shoe Fits" program. Members participating this year have been Stan Hudson, Cam Hudson, Ben Munsell, Ronnie Reese, Chris Anderson, Fred Towers, Jerry Owens, Mike Nix, Rick Sluder and Ray Stewart. We have been asked once again to marshal the Asheville Christmas parade on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003. The parade will be broadcast on Thanksgiving Day on our local TV station. Members wanting to participate should contact me. Rick Sluder, Pres.
