Tug Hill Wind Farm

L.U. 910 (i&rts), WATERTOWN, NYOur local had a large number of members in the Massena Solidarity Labor Day parade. All who marched represented Local 910 with pride. Retirees rode in horse-drawn wagons, which won second place for floats. Monica Stone drove a beautiful horse and wagon team. Members and families had lots of fun.

Local 910 hopes to see more members and families turn out next year. Food and refreshments were free to all. Thanks to all participants.

Over the past summer our work was overly slow. The work picture for next spring looks better. The Tug Hill wind farm should be started in the spring and completed by the end of the year.

We wish everyone happy holidays and a good New Year.

Annual Barbecue Fun

Local 952 journeyman Carl Ivy joins a dance at the
locals annual summer barbecue.

L.U. 952 (i&o), VENTURA, CAOn Saturday, Sept. 11, Local 952 members gathered with family and friends at Camarillo Grove Park for the annual IBEW summer barbecue. The weather was great and the food delicious. Local 952 apprentices roasted tri-tips, chicken and corn on the cob and prepared side dishes. Apprentices also volunteered for set-up and break-down. We thank them for their diligence.

The entertainment was grandcarnival games, prizes and a big jolly jumper for the kids. Brother/DJ Mike Zegers provided music and was MC for the raffle and prize giveaway. There was a fierce horseshoe competition and a Frisbee game. Tinas Ports of Paradise presented Polynesian music and dance.

This years barbecue was truly fun for the whole family. Apprentices mingled with retirees, and friends remembered fun times. Local 952 thanks all who attended and helped make it a memorable event.

We also thank Ventura County Board of Supervisors member John Flynn for his attendance and his years of support for IBEW Local 952. Flynn is a friend of labor and recently has pushed for insertion of pre-qualification language in our countys prevailing wage projects. His efforts to help us "level the playing field" and keep our working conditions safe are appreciated.

Year in Review

Local 1116 members children display IBEW banner
as they march in 2004 Labor Day parade.

L.U. 1116 (em,lctt&u), TUCSON, AZThe year 2004 was full of highs and lows.

Our new Unisource Energy members had to learn what being part of a union organization can mean (benefits and fair wages). Older members retired and passed the torch on to those who will keep this local cruising into 2005 and beyond. Many of our members and officers served on committees, putting in time during the elections educating or reminding members to vote and participating in the labor walks. Our linemen took their skills to the Linemens Rodeo in September. The power production, warehouse, clerical, dispatchers, meter readers, craft workers, utility workers, tree trimmers and others all performed their duties under pressure with a downsized work force.

Because of you, IBEW Local 1116 looks forward to continued union pride in the year 2005. Congratulations on a job well done.
Our hearts, prayers and sincere sympathy go out to families of our deceased members during this holiday season.
