RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 1, ST. LOUIS, MOI had hoped to be able to report some positive results of the November election. We worked very hard to elect candidates who understand the needs of working people and the citizens of the United States. We did not fare well in the U.S. elections or in Missouri as a whole. We did manage to keep some key positions in the St. Louis area on the local level. On Sept. 15, 2004, we enjoyed our annual luncheon sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary featuring good food, socializing and crafts made by the auxiliary for sale. On Oct. 13, our Pin Presentation to honor members with 65-plus years of service took place. At the Nov.17 meeting, Local 1 Bus. Mgr. Steve Schoemehl presented information on health care and prescription drug benefits. Pres. Dick Weller arranged for guest speaker Dr. E. Robert Schultz from Missouri Baptist Hospital, who discussed Alzheimers disease. At this writing our annual IBEW Auxiliary Christmas party was set for Dec. 8. Meetings in 2005 will be: March 16, May 18, July 20, Sept. 21, and Nov. 16. Retirees, please try to attend. Its great to get together and enjoy each others company. Richard King, V.P./P.S.
RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 6, SAN FRANCISCO, CAOur club, the Senior Sixes, get together the third Thursday of every month for a short meeting and lunch. On many occasions we have guest speakers who keep us up to date on such issues as health and welfare and pension plan information. On Sept. 16, 2004, we had our annual picnic at Junipero Serra Park in San Bruno, CA. It was a great time with good weather, good food and good friends. Very special thanks to chefs Ron Wilson, John Kilgarriff, Jerry Raye and John Brugeletta and club Pres. John Walsh. Mike Coombs, P.S. RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 22, OMAHA, NEThe past year we were a very busy organization, starting with remodeling our meeting room, kitchen and museum at the end of last year. In 2004 Retirees Club Pres. December was hall-decorating time, along with bell ringing for the Salvation Army. Approximately 120 members and guests signed up to attend Our annual Christmas party/dinner had 120 members and guests signed up to attend. Also in December we delivered 10 Christmas fruit baskets to our retired brothers who are confined in some way.
