RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 3, NY, NY, WESTCHESTER/PUTNAM CHAPTER—Our December holiday luncheon was a huge success. Over 100 people had a wonderful time. Delicious food, good cheer, great dancing and music. Many thanks to Jim and Jane O’Donnell, who again put it all together so well at the Lake Isle Country Club.

Our chapter’s officers are pictured in the accompanying photo. A special award was presented to Ray Chirles commemorating his dedicated service for many years as our chapter chairman. Sadly, because of ill health, Ray had to retire from his position. With the approval of the Board of Directors, Dominic Pironti will complete Ray’s term until the next election.

At the February meeting, Ms. Martha Collack from the J.I.B. was the guest speaker. It was an informative presentation on prescription drugs and medical benefits. A question and answer period followed.

A bus trip to Mohegan Sun on March 16 was arranged by Activity Chmn. Bill Robertson. Our annual golf outing is scheduled for May 11 at the Beekman Country Club. Details are being finalized for a fishing trip in June out of Glen Island.

Welcome to all former members of Retirees Chapter 501 who have joined our chapter.

Vince Panzarino, P.S.

Club Events

RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 3, NEW YORK, NY, SUFFOLK COUNTY CHAPTER—Our holiday luncheon was a complete success. Thanks to Marie and Fred Faas. Everyone had a great time and the weather cooperated.

At press time we were planning the following events: a March 14 St. Patrick’s Day party; a July 11 barbeque at Hoyt’s Farm; an Oct. 17 Octoberfest; and a Dec. 8 holiday luncheon.

New members are always welcomed to join us.

Snow Birds Meet

Annual Picnic: Local 3 Retirees Club,
North Florida Chapter.

RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 3, NEW YORK, NY, NORTH FLORIDA CHAPTER—Our chapter held its annual Christmas/Hanukah party at Benvenuto’s in Boynton Beach on Dec. 17, 2004. The brothers and sisters had a smashing time, thanks to Norma Modena who made the arrangements. Many of our members are "Snow Birds" and we welcome all Local 3 Retirees to our affairs and meetings after.

Our meetings have lively discussions ranging from the recent reduction in our prescription drug coverage and exportation of jobs to Pres. Bush’s desire to destroy group-paid Social Security insurance and reduce benefits for those under 55 into a self insured plan through private investments. Representation on the Pension Committee for retirees was again brought up. Other items of interest and the latest news from up north are given to our members at the meetings.

The chapter meets the second Friday of each month at 10 a.m. in the Boynton Beach Congregational Church, 115 N. Highway, Boynton Beach—second floor. Our meetings are from September to May. Please join us.

Senior Sixes

Local 6 Senior Sixes Christmas party.

RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 6, SAN FRANCISCO, CA—Our club, the Senior Sixes, gets together on the third Thursday of every month for a short meeting and lunch. On many occasions we have guest speakers who keep us up-to-date on such issues as health and welfare, and pension plan information. We are always looking for new members.

On Dec. 16 we had our annual Christmas luncheon. Everyone enjoyed a fantastic turkey lunch, which was prepared by Bill and Chuck Cendak. There was plenty of good cheer for all.
