URGENT AMTRAK UPDATE

January 16th Negotiating Session Set

Following release of the Amtrak PEB report, the Amtrak Bargaining Coalition, which we are a part of, wrote to Amtrak requesting a meeting with them.  This was done in an effort to attempt to reach a negotiated settlement with them in our contract dispute, a settlement based on the findings of the PEB report.  Amtrak has contacted us and agreed to meet.  The meeting with our coalition is scheduled for January 16th, and will be held in the IBEW headquarters.  We will update you following the meeting.

In the meantime, lobbyists from all unions involved are mounting a massive lobbying campaign on Capitol Hill asking for the support of our Congressmen and Senators in our dispute with Amtrak.  So far, feedback has been very positive.

Please continue to visit our website at www.ibew.org for updates on this and other important railroad issues.
