Countdown to Nov. 4: IBEW Launches Political Web Portal
October 6, 2008
On television, on the Web and in your mailboxes, the gloves are coming off and the rhetoric is getting nasty. We must be getting close to Election Day.
The IBEW’s political program is in full swing and after months of laying the groundwork, we have thousands of members in the field mobilizing with labor’s strongest asset: getting out the vote in the most important election of our lifetime.
We have compiled election-related material in a special political portion of the Web site, called “Election 2008.” We have a side-by-side chart comparing the candidates on the issues near and dear to the hearts of working families, as well as pages on the positions of each presidential would-be.
President Hill introduces the AFL-CIO video about Sen. Barack Obama and labor issues. And we have fliers that you can print out and share with family and friends.
Most of all, we have the opinions of members, in their words, both in print and in video. And we are adding content every day, so keep checking back.
