BCTD Leader Hits Airwaves to Champion Clean Energy
The Nuclear Energy Institute is sponsoring a month-long ad campaign touting the nation’s need for clean and renewable energy. One radio spot features AFL-CIO Building Trades and Construction Department President Mark Ayers highlighting the benefits of solar, wind and nuclear power while emphasizing the importance of good-paying union jobs.
“Despite our current economic difficulties, the demand for electricity is expected to grow by 25 percent over the next 20 years,” Ayers says in the one-minute ad. “Our economy depends on affordable and clean electricity.”
Ayers is an IBEW member and former Director of the Construction and Maintenance Department.
The ad will run throughout February on Washington, D.C., AM radio stations during peak commuting hours.
