 IBEW Organizer Highlights Workplace Intimidation in Radio Piece

As anti-labor groups nationwide ratchet up their rhetoric against the Employee Free Choice Act, Downers Grove, Ill., Local 21 business representative Dave Webster told Chicago Public Radio how management can thwart efforts to unionize.
Webster has been trying to organize hundreds of Chicago Comcast employees at the company’s South Side location by handling out leaflets and talking with workers – but he’s encountered some heavy resistance.
“Comcast would plant supervisors to … watch which workers were taking the flyers, which workers were talking to organizers, and basically scare them with their job so that they wouldn’t talk to union organizers,” Webster says in the piece.
