Union Talks With Verizon Continue
WASHINGTON, DCOn Wednesday, the unions bargaining with Verizon exchanged proposals and continued to discuss details of a variety of proposals. Job security remains a key issue for union negotiators, a joint bargaining committee of representatives from the IBEW and the Communications Workers of America.
Though Verizon issued a statement late yesterday implying that an agreement was imminent, union negotiators cautioned that some points remain unresolved.
The IBEW represents 25,000 Verizon workers in New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, covered by this contract.
