Negotiations Continue Wednesday
WASHINGTON, DCBargaining between the two unions representing Verizon workers and the company resumed Wednesday morning after adjourning late Tuesday night. Negotiators for the IBEW and the Communications Workers of America characterized progress as slow as they bargained over job security and health care proposals.
Though Verizon issued a statement late yesterday implying that an agreement was imminent, union negotiators cautioned that some key points remain unresolved.
The IBEW represents 25,000 Verizon workers in New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, covered by this contract.
