    Formal Talks in Recess for Weekend

    WASHINGTON, DC As the power failure caused a blackout in several northeastern states Friday, negotiators for the IBEW and CWA and the company conferred via conference call.

    Late Friday, talks recessed for the weekend, although parties remain open to discuss issues when appropriate. Negotiations continue under the auspices of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.
