Union, Verizon Talks Continued Friday

Negotiators for the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers planned to continue talks Friday afternoon with Verizon.  Intensified efforts to reach a new agreement have now continued for several days.

Approximately 78,000 members of the CWA and IBEW from the Northeast to the Mid-Atlantic worked past an August 2 contract deadline as negotiations continued.  The parties will continue to meet on a national level in Washington, D.C. with the assistance of a federal mediator.
