IBEW Members Ratify Contract with Verizon
(Washington, DC) The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers announced today its members covered by the recently negotiated agreement with Verizon ratified the contract, with 90 percent voting "yes."
"The negotiating team won a solid contract protecting job security and health insurance and enhancing pay and retirement benefits," said IBEW President Edwin D. Hill. "We are glad that such an overwhelming majority recognized their good work. We are hopeful that this process will mark the beginning of an era of improved labor-management relations at Verizon."
The IBEW represents approximately 22,000 Verizon workers covered by this agreement in New England, New Jersey, upstate New York and Pennsylvania.
