Results of the special meeting

The Special negotiation informational meeting was a huge show of solidarity. Over 360 members came to show their support. Cars filled the IBEW Local 86 lot and overflowed along a long stretch of East River road. Each member of the negotiating committee received a long standing ovation from the Sisters and brothers in the packed Hall. IBEW local 36 Business Manager Rick Irish and Third District International Representative Mike Flanagan wanted to remind everyone that its work as usual, Show up for your shift at your usual time, Follow the APM and work as safely as possible. Work at your normal pace and to be respectful. If the media asks you a question your answers is "NO COMMENT" and direct them to the proper authority.

We would like to thank David A. Young, Jr. and all the Brothers/Sisters of IBEW local 86 for their support and the use of their facility. We would like to thank the Brothers and Sisters of all IBEW locals who have all pledged their support. We would like to thank the Brothers/Sisters of the Building Trades and the many unions of the Labor Council who have also stated their support.

Our goal with this with web site is to keep our Members as well as the Community informed with important news, activities and events of the Union. We are comprised of Gas and Electric employees of Rochester Gas and Electric a unit of Energy East. As Members of Local 36 we will continuously strive for a productive and respectful relationship with the Community, RG&E and Energy East. We at the same time will consistently work to secure a living wage as well as the dignity, health and welfare of our members.

The members of Local Union 36, IBEW will endeavor to foster and nurture a safe productive work environment that promotes the spirit of unity. We recognize that each member's strengths contribute to the overall efficiency and strength of our union. 

By working cooperatively with management, we shall work to resolve any issues that may arise with a common goal of safely providing energy and its related products by the workforce and, efficient service to our customers.
