Louisiana Office Opens To Help Coordinate Rebuilding Work

An office has been set up in Lake Charles, Louisiana, upon the recommendation of President Edwin D. Hill and Vice Presidents John Schantzen and John Gardner to help hurricane victims and IBEW members who will be heading south to work on hurricane rebuilding projects.

The office will not accept monetary donations. Donations should continue to be sent to the
IBEW Hurricane Relief Fund at the address listed on www.ibew.org or electronically by credit card.

The Louisiana office, also home to the Quality Coastal Initiative, is located at:

3000 Highway 90 East
Lake Charles, Louisiana 70615

8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

The following services will be provided in Lake Charles:

  • Coordination with locals and business managers from across the country who wish to supply manpower.
  • Accepting relief items such as tools etc. (excluding monetary donations).
  • Serving as a mediator between any contractors interested in performing work within the affected local union jurisdictions.
  • Serving as a communication link between affected locals to insure that their needs are met.
