IBEW Statement on EEI President Tom Kuhn’s Retirement

IBEW International President Kenneth W. Cooper issued the following statement on the announced retirement of Edison Electric Institute President and CEO Thomas Kuhn:

“For nearly four decades, Thomas Kuhn’s dedication to America’s utility industry has helped keep the lights on in homes and businesses across North America. Through major technological, regulatory and industry changes, Tom’s commitment to both the customer and the men and women of the electric industry has never wavered.

“Thanks to his leadership, the IBEW and EEI have forged one of the nation’s strongest labor-management partnerships, which continues to ensure productive and safe workplaces for America’s energy workers and employers. Together, the IBEW and EEI have created a vibrant legislative partnership that’s moving America toward a more affordable, reliable and cleaner energy system.

“On behalf of the working people of America’s utility industry, I want to thank Tom for his leadership, friendship and commitment. I’m glad that we’ll have until the end of this year to continue working together on issues critical to the energy industry’s transition, like workforce retention and permitting reform.”
