IBEW Praises President Biden’s Crackdown on China’s Unfair Trading Practices
IBEW International President Kenneth W. Cooper issued the following statement on President Biden’s crackdown on China’s unfair trading practices:
“I am proud to have joined President Biden today as he announced new protections for American workers against unfair Chinese trade practices. For too long, U.S. manufacturers, especially those in advanced electrical and energy technologies, have been undercut by cheap Chinese exports.
“This move will help level the playing field for both businesses and workers, further boosting domestic manufacturing.
“The Biden-Harris administration has made rebuilding America’s manufacturing sector a priority, and we’re already seeing results as high-tech semiconductor and EV battery plants set up shop in communities across the United States.
“President Biden’s decision means more investments and jobs in America’s manufacturing and clean energy sectors. The men and women of the IBEW are committed to working with his administration to restore America’s role as the world’s manufacturing and technological leader.”
