Broadcast Workers at PGA Tour Entertainment Vote to Join the IBEW

Broadcast professionals across the United States who work for PGA Tour Entertainment voted to join the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers yesterday, with more than 70% of workers who cast ballots voting for IBEW representation.

"On behalf of the 775,000 members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, I want to welcome them to our union,” said IBEW International President Lonnie R. Stephenson. “For as long as there has been a broadcast industry, the IBEW has been a part of it, giving voice to the men and women who keep it going, and it’s an honor to have PGA Tour Entertainment professionals as part of our union."

The vote caps off a nearly year-long campaign by the IBEW, which will now represent more than 350 camera operators, video engineers, audio technicians, and other broadcast technicians for the company.

“We have built strong and productive labor-management partnerships with some of the biggest names in broadcasting, from CBS to Fox Sports, and with hundreds of local affiliates," Stephenson said. "We are eager to build a similar, mutually beneficial partnership with PGA Tour Entertainment as we work together to promote excellence in the broadcasting industry.”
